Named in honor of Thomas Jamison, a long-time
member of Oakmont Country Club and the founder of Hannastown Golf Club, the
Jamison Cup is contested annually between the winners of the
many leagues in Western PA. League play has been a central
part of the WPGA's history since the early 20th century; the
Diebold league is the oldest and consists of Oakmont Country Club, Longue Vue Club,
Pittsburgh Field Club and Fox Chapel Golf Club.
The winning team from each league is invited to send a five man
team to the finals. The event is 36-holes of stroke play,
college format, with the best four scores counting for each
round.
