Junior Championship |
Since the inaugural event in 1921, the Junior
Championship has crowned a number of impressive champions. Two
former champions, Arnold Palmer and Sam Parks, Jr., went
on to win the the US Open Championship, while Frank Fuhrer, III,
represented the USA in the Walker Cup. Eleven players have won
the championship twice--Fred Brand, Jr., J. Denniston St. Clair,
Wallace Kappel, Charles Manning, Jr., Arnold Palmer, James
Holding, III, Dick Chase, George Mackanos, III, Dudley Merchant,
Mark Scally and Bobby MacWhinnie. This record fell in 2005 when
William Miller captured his third straight title.
