The Net Four-Ball Championship was started in
1997 and held at Beaver Lakes Country Club. The event was
cancelled in 2001 and then indefinitely shelved in 2002 due to
lack of participation.The South
Hills CC team of Charles Voelker and Michael Sabatini won the
first event in 1997, and also the final contested event in 2000.
Mark Kosovec and Don Hammel of Diamond Run won the event in
1998, while Stan Lesniak and John Comunale of Lincoln Hills won
the event in 1999.
The event originally consisted of entries
from local qualifying at Member Clubs; often times qualifying
lasted over the course of the summer. In an attempt to stimulate
participation, the eligibility was changed to an entry form
system with two players from the same Member Club competing.
