Note the following
information for the 9th WPGA Public Links
Championship at Treasure Lake Golf Club, DuBois, PA, on
Thursday, July 17, the Silver Course.
Note tee times on the web site
plus this information. The competition is 36 holes; second
round times will be issued upon finish of the first round.
Players will be given forty minutes for lunch, and times will be
scheduled accordingly. The field is 27 players.
The course is located just north
of DuBois on US-255. After you enter the property, follow the
signs to the Silver Course. PLAN ON FIFTEEN MINUTES OF DRIVING
FROM THE ENTRANCE TO THE COURSE. THE FIRST COURSE YOU SEE IS
THE GOLD COURSE, SO DON’T STOP THERE! WE’RE AT THE SILVER.
Food—the entry fee includes a
continental breakfast and lunch.
Practice rounds—contact the golf
shop—814-375-1808. The professional is Jude Lander.
Lodging—we suggest the Best
Western (814-371-6200), Hampton Inn, (814-375-1500) and Holiday
Inn Express (814-371-8900), all in DuBois.
Carts are permitted but not
required and are included in the entry fee.
The Karl Kauffmann Trophy is
named in honor of a Pittsburgh golfer who the USGA Amateur
Public Links championships, 1927, 1928, and 1929.
Merchandise prizes will be posted
on the summary board.
The winner and runner up (and
ties) will be exempt from qualifying for the 2009
West Penn Amateur, plus the
Mid-Amateur (if age eligible) and Open, if qualifying is
needed. These same golfers will also be invited to compete in
the WPGA’s Tournament of Champions next spring.
