The competition is 54 holes and the field will be 78 players. The stroke play cut will be the top thirty-two (32) scores and ties after thirty-six (36) holes. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees. The practice facility will open at 7:00 AM each day of the championship.
A shuttle will be available for players for transport from the cart staging area near hole #1 tee for players starting on hole #11. Players should leave ample time for transportation to the 11th tee by arriving in the shuttle area at least fifteen minutes prior to their scheduled starting time. Regardless of any circumstances the player is responsible for being at the tee on time and ready to play.
A boxed lunch will be served between rounds near a player’s finishing hole. Players starting on hole #11 will not be returning to the resort area until the completion of their second round. Please plan accordingly.
Format - 54 Holes of Stroke Play, cut made after 36 holes. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie after the final round, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.
Tee Markers - All play is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers. The course will play roughly 6,700 yards depending on conditions and yardages will vary from round to round. The starting tees for rounds one and two will be hole #1 and hole #11. Players will begin both round one and round two on same starting tee.
Practice - Practice rounds are available by contacting the golf shop at 814-624-5637. Arrangements must be made in advance and are at a rate of $69. Additionally, practice rounds can be booked via an online portal here. When booking online, please use promo code: 'WPAM2016' in order to receive the reduced rate. The practice range will open at 7:00 AM the morning of the competition proper. All practice rounds are the responsibility of the player.
Transportation/Caddies - Walking is required for all phases of the championship. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose. Push trolleys are permitted for the competition. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties. Bedford Springs does not offer caddies. If you wish to employ a caddie, please contact Dylan or Kensey at the WPGA Office at 412-826-2180. Caddies will not be available on site but can be pre-arranged by contacting the WPGA office, based on availability. Caddies arranged by the WPGA will be at a cost of $50 per round not including tip. Caddie expenses are the responsibility of the player.
Lodging On-Site - Bedford Springs is offering a competitor lodging rate of $161 including resort fees for the evening of Sunday, June 19 and Monday, June 20. Competitor rates will be valid until the date of the championship, based on availability. Contestants are encouraged to make arrangements as soon as possible in order to ensure availability.
Food - The WPGA provides coffee & juices prior to rounds one and three. Lunch will be provided between rounds 1 & 2 for players and caddies near their starting tee. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.
Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.
Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty-five minutes (4:25). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.
Spectator Info - No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition. Spectators may purchase lunch at their own expense in the resort.
