Notice to Competitors
2016 West Penn Amateur Qualifying Round

Thursday, June 7, 2016 - The Country Club of Meadville

The competition is 18 holes and the field of thirty-two (32) competitors is playing for ten (10) spots and two (2) alternates in the Amateur Championship at Bedford Springs. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees. The locker room and practice facility will open at 7:00 AM the day of the qualifying round.

Groupings - Tee & Time

Format - 18 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie for qualifying spots or alternates, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Tee Markers - All play is from the BLUE tee markers. The course will play roughly 6,800 yards depending on conditions.

Practice - Practice rounds can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 814-724-7423. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player, must be pre-arranged, and are at the discretion of the club. The Golf Professional is Mike Ferry. Practice rounds will be at a cost of $20 to walk or $40 to ride. Range balls are complimentary the day of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies - Walking is required. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying round. Players are permitted to use push trolleys for the qualifying round.

Food - The WPGA provides coffee, juices, and whole fruits prior to the round. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.


Lodging - Lodging can be found in the Meadville area.

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:15). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should return to the clubhouse or seek shelter at any rain shelter until the Committee can evacuate the golf course. Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

Spectator Info - No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition.
