2016 West Penn Amateur Qualifying Round


Tuesday, June 14, 2016 - Hannastown Golf Club



The competition is 18 holes and the field of sixty-four (64) players is playing for twenty-one (21) spots and two (2) alternates in the Amateur Championship at Bedford Springs. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees.

18 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie for qualifying spots or alternates, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Tee Markers - All play is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers. The course will play roughly 6,100 yards depending on conditions.

Practice - Practice rounds can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 724-836-8643. The Golf Professional is Craig Mankins. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player, must be pre-arranged, and are at the discretion of the club. Practice rounds will be at a cost of $40 and are available Monday through Thursday. Hannastown does not have a full practice range, players should plan according. Practice ranges near Hannastown include Totteridge Golf Club and Mt. Odin Golf Course. Players may bring their own shag balls to warm up on the area of practice at Hannastown.

Transportation/Caddies - Walking is required. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying round. Players are permitted to use push trolleys for the qualifying round.

Food - The WPGA provides coffee, juices, and whole fruits prior to the round. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

Lodging - Lodging can be found in the Greensburg area.

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

Evacuation Plan - n the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should seek the nearest shelter on course, return to the clubhouse or proceed to the maintenance building immediately, until the committee can evacuate the course. Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

Spectator Info - No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition.
