117th West Penn Amateur Championship Qualifying Round

Thursday, June 1, 2017 - Riverside Golf Course, Cambridge Springs

The competition is 18 holes and the field of fourteen (14) competitors is playing for four (4) spots and two (2) alternates in the Amateur Championship at Sunnehanna Country Club. Groupings and tee times can be found at Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee. The practice facility will open at roughly 7:15 AM the day of the qualifying round.

Format: 18 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie for qualifying spots or alternates, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Tee Markers: All play is from the BLUE tee markers. The course will play roughly 6,300 yards, par 70 depending on conditions.

Practice: Practice rounds can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 814-398-4537. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player, must be pre-arranged, and are at the discretion of the club. Practice rounds will be at a cost of $8 to walk or $15 to ride. Range balls are complimentary the day of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies: Walking is required. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying round. Players are permitted to use push trolleys for the qualifying round.

Food: The WPGA provides water on course and lunch following the round. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.


Lodging: Lodging can be found in the Meadville or Edinboro areas.

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be three hours and forty-five minutes (3:45). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should return to the clubhouse or seek shelter at any rain shelter until the Committee can evacuate the golf course. Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines. ADA carts are based on availability. Spectators may purchase lunches via cash or credit card.
