The competition is 54 holes and the field will be 75 players. The stroke play cut will be the low thirty-two (32) scores and ties after thirty-six (36) holes. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees.
Format - 54 Holes of Stroke Play, cut made after 36 holes.
Round 1 will be played on the White Course with a projected yardage of about 6,500 yards.
Round 2 will be played on the Blue Course with a projected yardage of about 6,800 yards.
Round 3 will be played on the Blue Course with a projected yardage of about 7,000 yards.
Yardages may vary and will depend on conditions.
A shuttle will be provided for players starting on White Course hole #10. There may be delays in the operation of the shuttle and players are encouraged to report to the tenth tee at least ten minutes prior to their starting time. Regardless of circumstances, players will be responsible for being at their respective starting tee ready to play at their assigned time.
Transportation/Caddies - Players are required to walk for the championship. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties.
Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20)
Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole sudden death playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.
Practice - Practice rounds are available by contacting the golf shop at 814-865-4653. The Director of Golf is Joe Hughes. Practice round fees are as follows for 18 holes and cart: White Course ($28 + applicable fees) and Blue Course ($35 + applicable fees). Practice rounds should be made in advance. Practice range balls are complimentary the day of the competition.
Transportation: Walking is required. Players are permitted to use a club trolley during the championship. Penn State has a limited number of trolleys available for rent. Players may bring their own trolley.
Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation (one prolonged note from an air horn), players should report to the nearest shelter. Shelter locations are as follows:
White Course: Clubhouse(1/2/3/18), 5 Green(3/4/5), 14 Green(6/7/14/15/16/17), 9 Tee(8/9/10), Rec Hall(Holes 11/12/13)
Blue Course: Clubhouse(1/2/3/10/14/18), 5 Tee(4/5/6/7/8), 12 Tee(5/6/11/12), 13 Tee(12/13/15/16), 5 Green White Course(16/17)
Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.
Food - The WPGA provides a light continental breakfast for the players on Monday & Tuesday and Lunch for players and their caddies on Monday only. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.
Lodging - Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the State College area. Shaner Hotel Group offers a "player rate" for June 15th & 16th. Locations can be found below with the rate they offer. When making reservations please refer to the player rate as "WPGA Amateur."
