2015 West Penn Boys Championship

June 23, 2015 - Youghiogheny Country Club, Elizabeth Township

This notice serves as confirmation for the West Penn Boys Championship on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Youghiogheny Country Club in Elizabeth Township, PA.

Please note the starting times and pairings.

Grouping - Alpha
Groupings - Tee & Time

Starting tee will be hole #1. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee. Trophies will be awarded to the winner and runner-up in each division. The winner of the age 14 & 15 division will receive an invitation to the 2015 C.R. Miller Junior Match Play Championship.

Format - 18 Holes of Stroke Play. (9 Holes Stroke Play for age 8-10 division.)

Tee Markers
Age 14 & 15 Age Division - BLUE WPGA tee markers (Approximate Yardage 6,200)
Age 11-13 Age Division - WHITE WPGA tee markers (Approximate Yardage 5,700)
Age 8-10 Age Division - Red tee markers (Approximate Yardage 2,400)

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:15).

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Note to Parents & Guardians - A parent, stepparent, or guardian may not serve as a caddie. Spectator carts are not permitted for use during the championship. Lunch is provided for the players and caddies only. Parents and/or spectators who wish to eat lunch with players should inform a staff member of Youghiogheny Country Club and be prepared to pay for charges via cash, check or chit charge to home club.

Practice - Practice rounds are available by contacting the golf shop at 724-751-2943. The Golf Professional is Zachary Turek. Practice rounds should be made in advance and fees are the responsibility of the player. Youghiogheny is offering a practice fee of $30 to walk the golf course. Practice range balls are complimentary the day of the competition.

Caddies - Walking is required. Youghiogheny has no caddies. Players may bring their own caddies provided they meet the following requirements - A parent, stepparent, or guardian may NOT serve as a caddie. CADDIES MUST WALK IN PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation (one prolonged horn note): All players should seek the nearest shelter until the Committee can transport the players to the clubhouse.


Food - The WPGA provides lunch for the players and caddies. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. Lunch will be available by cash or credit card for those accompanying the players and caddies.
