This notice serves as confirmation of your invitation for the C.R. Miller Memorial Match Play Invitational on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 and Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, PA.
The field is 16 contestants. Day 1 will consist of 8 matches in the morning with the winners of those matches playing 4 matches in the afternoon. Day 2 will consist of the semi-final matches in the morning and the final match in the afternoon. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee.
Practice - Practice rounds may be available, based on availability, by contacting the golf shop at 814-255-3106. The Golf Professional is Carl Seelman. Practice rounds must be arranged in advance. Practice rounds for competitors are at no cost to walk and at the cost of the cart fee to ride. Non-competitors that wish to accompany a competitor for a practice round are subject to a fee of $100 including a cart.
Note to Parents & Guardians - A parent, stepparent, or guardian may not serve as a caddie. Spectator carts are not permitted for use during the championship. Breakfast & lunch is provided and paid for the players and their caddies only. Parents and/or spectators who wish to eat lunch with players should inform a staff member of Sunnehanna Country Club and be prepared to pay for charges via cash, check or chit charge to home club.
Format - Match Play field of sixteen players. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf.
Tee Markers - The course will play roughly 6,700 yards depending on conditions and yardages will vary from round to round.
Transportation/Caddies - Players and caddies are required to walk for the championship. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties. A parent, stepparent, or guardian may not serve as a caddie. Sunnehanna does offer caddies. Players interested in hiring a club caddie should inquire in advance with the golf shop. Golf bag push carts are permitted at Sunnehanna however they must be rented from the club. Players may not bring their own push cart.
Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.
Food - The WPGA provides a continental breakfast in the morning, water on the course and lunch for players and caddies only between rounds. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. Lunch will be available by reciprocating charge, cash or credit card for those accompanying the players and caddies.
Lodging - Hotels of various price ranges can be found in the Greater Johnstown area.
Spectator Info - No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition.
