This notice serves as confirmation for U.S. Open Local Qualifying Round on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Indiana Country Club in Indiana, PA.
The qualifier is 18 holes and the field is 78 players. Please note the attached starting times and pairings. The starting tee will be holes #1 and #11 and times will begin at 9:15 AM. Starting times can also be found at WPGA.org prior to the competition. The number of spots the field is playing for and additional information will be distributed on the starting tee. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole sudden death playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee for qualifying spots as well as alternates.
Format - 18 Holes of Stroke Play
Tee Markers - All play is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers. Course yardage will be approximately 6,550 yards, Par 70.
Distance Measuring Devices are not permitted for the qualifying round.
The “One Ball Rule” is in effect for the qualifying round.
Grooves conforming to USGA policy are required for the qualifying round.
Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and thirty minutes (4:30). Please note the Pace of Play Policy.
Practice - Practice rounds are available by contacting the golf shop at 724-465-5322.
Practice rounds for competitors will be at a cost of $50 with or without a cart and are the responsibility of the player. The Golf Professional is Daniel Braun. Practice range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.
Transportation/Caddies - Walking is required. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying round. Players are allowed to use push trolleys for the qualifying round.
Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, players on holes #1,2,3,4,5,9,10 & 18 should return immediately to the Clubhouse. Players on holes #11,12,13,14,15,16 & 17 should go to the Maintenance Building.
Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.
Food - The WPGA provides a light continental breakfast for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.
Lodging - A rate of $104 per night for competitors has been negotiated at the Park Inn by Radisson Indiana. Booking can be done by phone or online and information can be found here.
