Notice to Players
WPGA Fred Brand Foursomes Championship



This notice serves as confirmation for WPGA Fred Brand Foursomes Championship on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at The Longue Vue Club in Verona.

The competition is 36 holes and the field is 30 teams. Please note the attached starting times and pairings. Starting tees will be holes #1 & #9. Players will remain at their initial starting hole for each round of the competition. Starting times can also be found on the WPGA website prior to the competition.

Format - 36 Holes of Foursomes Stroke Play

Tee Markers - All play is from the BLUE tee markers

Pace of Play - Three hours and forty minutes (3:40)

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players are encouraged to read Rule 29, Threesomes & Foursomes, USGA Rules of Golf. In the case a provisional ball needs to be played for a ball that may be lost or out of bounds, the partner plays such a ball, not the player who made the original stroke. Partners must switch the order in which they play from the Teeing Ground for the second round to ensure each player has played a shot from all eighteen Teeing Grounds. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole sudden death playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Practice Rounds - Please contact the Golf Shop at 412-793-2375 for information regarding a practice round. The PGA Professional is Steve Antenucci.

Transportation/Caddies - Golf carts are permitted and are included in the entry fee. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose to walk.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, players on holes #1,2,3,4,5,6,7,15,16,17 & 18 should return immediately to the Clubhouse. Players on holes #8,9,10,11,12,13 & 14 should go to the Half Way House.

Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

Food - The WPGA provides a light continental breakfast, lunch and dinner for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. A cash bar will be available at dinner.

Lodging - Teams that need lodging will find several hotels in the Harmarville area in various price ranges, just off the PA Turnpike, Exit #48.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you must withdraw by contacting the Association office at 412-826-2180. The entry fee includes cart, practice fee, continental breakfast, lunch, dinner at the end of play, trophies to the winner and merchandise prizes to the top six (6) scores and ties for the Championship.
