This notice serves as confirmation for the 95th West Penn Junior Championship on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Butler Country Club in Butler, PA.
Please note the starting times and pairings.
Starting tees will be hole #1 & #9. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee.
Format - 36 Holes of Stroke Play
Tee Markers - All play is from the BLUE tee markers.
Winner gains two years exemption to the West Penn Amateur Championship.
Winner is awarded 5 AJGA Performance Stars.
Top 5 and ties gain invitations to C.R. Miller Memorial Junior Match Play Invitational.
Top 5 is awarded 1 AJGA Performance Star.
Note to Parents & Guardians - A parent, stepparent, or guardian may not serve as a caddie. Spectator carts are not permitted for use during the championship. Breakfast & lunch is provided and paid for the players and their caddies only.
Parents and/or spectators who wish to eat lunch with players should inform a staff member of Butler Country Club and be prepared to pay for charges via cash, check or chit charge to home club.
Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:15).
Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.
Practice - Practice rounds are available by contacting the golf shop at 724.586.7701, the Golf Professional is Rob McClellan. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player, must be pre-arranged. Practice rounds are available on July 1 after 12:00 PM and July 5 after 2:30 PM and will be at a cost of $50 plus any applicable fees.
Transportation/Caddies - Players and caddies are required to walk for the championship. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties. A parent, stepparent, or guardian may not serve as a caddie. Golf bag push carts are permitted for the championship.
Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, players on holes #1, 2(tee/fairway), 8, 9, 10, 11, 12(tee/fairway), 13(green), 14(tee) & 18 should return immediately to the Clubhouse. Players on holes #,12 (green), 13 (tee/fairway), 14(fairway/green), 15, 16 & 17 (tee/fairway) should go to the Simons Shelter. Players on holes #2 (green), 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 17(tee) should proceed to the Bathroom Area near Hole #6 tee.
Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.
Food - The WPGA provides whole fruits, juices & coffee in the morning and lunch for players and caddies only. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. Lunch will be available by cash or credit card for those accompanying the players and caddies.
Lodging - Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Butler and Cranberry Township areas.
