Notice to Competitors
31st West Penn Mid-Amateur Championship

September 6, 2016 - Wildwood Golf Club

This notice serves as confirmation for the 31st West Penn Mid-Amateur Championship on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Wildwood Golf Club in Allison Park, PA. The competition is 36 holes of stroke play. The starting field is 68 competitors. Starting tees will be holes #1 & #10. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees.

Groupings - Tee & Time

Format - 36 Holes of Stroke Play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Tee Markers - Play is from the WPGA tee markers (Approximately 6,650 yards based on conditions).

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:15). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

Practice - Please contact the Golf Shop at 412-486-4300 for information regarding a practice round. Availability of practice rounds are at the discretion of the Golf Shop and will be limited on the weekends. The PGA Golf Professional is Bernie Hough. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player and will be at a cost of $50.00 for competitors walking or riding. Guests of competitors are subject to the prevailing guest fee. Range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies - Golf carts are permitted and are included in the entry fee. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose to walk. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties.

Food - The WPGA provides a coffee, juices and whole fruits prior to the round and a lunch for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation all players should return immediately to the Clubhouse.


Lodging - Lodging can be found in the Ross Township area in various price ranges.

Spectator Info - No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition. Spectators may purchase lunch at their own expense.

The winner of the Championship receives an exemption to the 2017 West Penn Amateur & Open Championships. The top 3 scores and ties will gain exemption to the 2017 West Penn Amateur.
