2015 West Penn Mid-Amateur Championship


September 10, 2015 - Southpointe Golf Club, Canonsburg



This notice serves as confirmation for the 30th West Penn Mid-Amateur Championship on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg, PA.

The competition is 36 holes of stroke play. Starting tees will be holes #1 & #10. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees.

Format - 36 Holes of Stroke Play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Tee Markers - Play is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers (Approximately 6,700 Yards).

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty-five minutes (4:25). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

Practice - Please contact the Golf Shop at 724-746-2950 for information regarding a practice round. Availability of practice rounds are limited and at the discretion of the Golf Shop. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player and will be at a cost of $25.00 and any applicable fees. The PGA Golf Professional is Brent Johnson. Range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies - Golf carts are permitted and are included in the entry fee. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose to walk.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation all players should return immediately to the Clubhouse.

Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

Food - The WPGA provides a coffee, juices and whole fruits prior to the round and a lunch for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

Lodging - Lodging can be found in the Southpointe area in various price ranges.

The entry fee includes green fee, cart, coffee and juices, lunch, trophies to the winner and runner-up, merchandise prizes to the top eight (8) scores and ties for the Championship as well as a trophy and pro shop credit to the low senior in field. The winner of the Championship receives an exemption to the 2016 West Penn Amateur & Open Championships. The top 3 scores and ties will gain exemption to the 2016 West Penn Amateur.
