The competition is 18 holes and the field of seventy-eight (78) players is playing for eighteen (18) spots and two (2) alternates in the Open Championship at the Longue Vue Club. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees.
Format: 18 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie for qualifying spots or alternates, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.
Tee Markers: All play is from the WPGA tee markers. The course will play roughly 6,600 yards depending on conditions.
Practice: Practice rounds are available by contacting the golf shop. Practice rounds will be available on Saturday, July 9 between 1:30 and 2:30 as well as other times based on availability and at the discretion of the golf shop. Practice rounds must be scheduled in advance by contacting the Golf Shop at 412-262-4653. The Golf Professional is Tony Romansky. The cost for a practice round is $26. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player.
Transportation/Caddies: Golf carts are permitted for the qualifying round and included in the entry fee. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying round.
Food: The WPGA provides coffee, juices, and whole fruits prior to the round. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.
Footwear: METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.
Lodging: Lodging can be found in the Robinson or Moon Township areas.
Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:20). he Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.
Evacuation Plan—In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should seek the nearest shelter on course, return to the clubhouse or proceed to the maintenance building immediately, until the committee can evacuate the course. Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note or the club’s electronic detection system. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.
Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition.
