Notice to Competitors
2016 West Public Links Championships

Wednesday, May 25, 2016 - Pittsburgh National Golf Club, Gibsonia

The competition is 36 holes of stroke play. The field is 54 players for the Amateur Public Links and 13 players for the Senior Amateur Public Links. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees. The entry fee includes practice range fee, coffee, juices and lunch, trophies to the winners and merchandise prizes.

Groupings - Tee & Time

Format - 36 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Tee Markers - Play for the Amateur Public Links is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers and will play roughly 6,800 yards. Play for the Senior Amateur Public Links is from the WHITE WPGA tee markers and will play roughly 6,300 yards.

Practice - Practice rounds can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 724.265.4800. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player and should be pre-arranged. Practice rounds will be at a cost of $25 on a weekday and $40 on the weekend.

Transportation/Caddies - Automotive transportation is permitted for the championship. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose. Cart fees are included in the entry fee and no refunds are issued to players who choose to walk.

Food - The WPGA provides coffee, juices, and lunch for players only. Caddies and spectators may purchase lunch at their own expense. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.


Lodging - Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Cranberry Township or Ross Township areas.

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:15). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should return to the clubhouse immediately.

Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

Spectator Info - No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition. Spectators may purchase lunches via cash or credit card.
