Notice to Players
WPGA Semple Brothers Century Foursomes Championship

This notice serves as confirmation for WPGA Semple Brothers Foursomes Championship on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Allegheny Country Club in Sewickley.

The competition is 36 holes and the field is 23 teams. Please note the attached starting times and pairings. Starting tees will be holes #1 & #10. Starting times can also be found on WPGA website prior to the competition.

Format - 36 Holes of Foursomes Stroke Play

Tee Markers - All play is from the BLACK tee markers

Pace of Play - Three hours and forty minutes (3:40)

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players are encouraged to Rule 29, Threesomes & Foursomes, USGA Rules of Golf. In the case a provisional ball needs to be played for a ball that may be lost or out of bounds, the partner plays such a ball, not the player who made the original stroke. Partners must switch the order in which they play from the Teeing Ground for the second round to ensure each player has played a shot from all eighteen Teeing Grounds. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole sudden death playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Practice - Please contact the Golf Shop at 412-749-2705 for information regarding a practice round. The PGA Professional is John Aber.

Transportation/Caddies - Golf carts are permitted and are included in the entry fee. Allegheny does have caddies, if you wish to employ a club caddie you must pre-arrange one with the golf shop.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should return immediately to the Clubhouse.


Food - The WPGA provides a continental breakfast, lunch and heavy hors d’oeuvres following play for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. Cash bar will be available at dinner.

Lodging - Teams that need lodging will find several hotels in the Cranberry or Moon area in various price ranges.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you must withdraw by contacting the Association office at 412-826-2180. The entry fee includes cart, practice fee, continental breakfast, lunch, heavy hors d’oeuvres at the end of play, trophies to the winner and merchandise prizes to the top four (4) scores in flight-A and top two (2) scores in flight-B and ties for the Championship.
