Notice to Players - 2015 West Penn Senior Amateur Championship


May 26, 2015 - Green Oaks Country Club, Verona, PA



This notice serves as confirmation for the 84th West Penn Senior Amateur Championship on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Green Oaks Country Club in Verona, PA.

The competition is 36 holes of stroke play and the starting field is 49 contestants in the Senior Amateur and 16 contestants for the Super-Senior Amateur.

Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees.

Format - 36 Holes of Stroke Play. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Tee Markers - Play for the Senior Amateur is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers (Approximately 6,400 Yards). Play for Super-Senior Amateur is from the WHITE WPGA tee markers (Approximately 6,150 Yards).

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf.

Practice - Please contact the Golf Shop at 412-793-2200 for information regarding a practice round. Practice rounds will be available through Friday, May 22 at the discretion of the Golf Shop and not be offered over the Memorial Day weekend. The PGA Golf Professional is Ed Habjan. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player and will be at a cost of $27.50. Range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies - Golf carts are permitted and are included in the entry fee. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose to walk.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation all players should return immediately to the Clubhouse.

Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

Food - The WPGA provides a coffee and juices prior to the round and a lunch for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

Lodging - Lodging can be found in the Harmarville or Monroeville areas in various price ranges.

The entry fee includes cart, practice fee, coffee & juices, lunch, trophies to the winner and runner-up and merchandise prizes to the top eight (8) scores and ties for the Senior Amateur Championship and to the winner and runner-up for the Super-Senior Amateur Championship. The winner of the Senior Amateur Championship receives an exemption to the 2015 West Penn Amateur Championship.
