Notice to Players
West Penn Spring Stroke Play Championship



This notice serves as confirmation for WPGA Spring Stroke Play Championship on Monday, May 6, 2013 at The Pittsburgh Field Club in Pittsburgh, PA.

The competition is 36 holes and the field is 72 players representing 42 different clubs. Please note the attached starting times and pairings. Starting tees will be holes #1 & #10. Starting times can also be found at WPGA.org prior to the competition. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees.

Format - 36 Holes of Stroke Play.

Tee Markers - All play is from the BLACK tee markers.

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20)

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole by hole sudden death playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Practice - No arrangements have been made with Pittsburgh Field Club for practice rounds and are not available by contacting the Golf Shop. Players must arrange practice rounds on their own by contacting a member you may know or others who can assist in securing practice rounds.

Transportation/Caddies - Golf carts are permitted and are included in the entry fee. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose to walk. The Pittsburgh Field Club does have caddies, if you wish to employ a club caddie, arrangements must be made in advance by calling the Golf Shop at 412-963-7700. Caddies will not be available on the day of the competition if not arranged in advance.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, players on holes #1,2,3,4,5,6 & 18 should return immediately to the Clubhouse. Players on holes #8,9,10,11,12 & 13 should go to the Half Way House. Players on holes #7,14,15,16 & 17 should proceed to the Maintenance Building to the right of Hole #15 fairway.

Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

Food - The WPGA provides a light continental breakfast and lunch for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

Lodging - Lodging can be found in the Harmarville area in various price ranges, just off the PA Turnpike, Exit #48.

There is a waiting list for this Championship, please let us know as soon as possible if you must withdraw by contacting the Association office at 412-826-2180. The entry fee includes cart, range fee, continental breakfast, lunch, trophies to the winner and merchandise prizes to the top fifteen (15) scores and ties for the Championship. The winner of the Championship receives an exemption to the 2013 West Penn Amateur Championship.
