24th Spring Stroke Play Championship

Tuesday, May 16, 2017 - Nemacolin Country Club

This notice serves as confirmation for the 24th Spring Stroke Play Championship on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Nemacolin Country Club in Beallsville, PA. The competition is 36 holes and the field is 72 players. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees. The locker room and practice facility will open at roughly 7:30 AM the day of the championship. Please inform us as soon as possible if you must withdraw by emailing Matt Rusinko. The entry fee includes practice range fee, locker fee, lunch, trophies to the winner, runner-up, low junior (18 & under) and low senior (55 & above) as well as well as merchandise prizes.

Format: 36 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

Tee Markers: All play is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers. The course will play roughly 6,600 yards depending on conditions and yardages will vary from round to round.

Practice: Practice rounds are available, are at the discretion of the golf shop and can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 724-632-3300. The Golf Professional is Rick Bisi. Practice rounds will be at a cost of $70 including cart. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player and must be pre-arranged.

Transportation/Caddies: Automotive transportation is permitted for the championship. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose. Nemacolin does not have caddies available. Cart fees are included in the entry fee and no refunds are issued to players who choose to walk.

Food: The WPGA provides lunch for players only. Caddies and spectators may purchase lunch at their own expense. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.


Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Bentleyville, California and Belle Vernon areas.

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all players should return to the clubhouse immediately. Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines. ADA carts are based on availability. Spectators may purchase lunches via cash or credit card.
