Notice to Players
U.S. Amateur Sectional Qualifying Round - July 14, 2014
New Castle Country Club, New Castle, PA

This notice serves as confirmation for U.S. Amateur Sectional Qualifying on Monday, July 14, 2014 at New Castle Country Club.

The qualifier is 36 holes and the field is 78 players. The starting tee will be holes #1 and #10. The field will be playing for three (3) spots in the Championship and additional information will be distributed on the starting tee.

Format - 36 Holes of Stroke Play

Tee Markers - All play is from the BLUE tee markers

The "One Ball Rule" is in effect for the qualifying rounds. Grooves conforming to USGA competition standards are required.

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee for qualifying spots as well as alternates.

Practice - Please contact the Golf Shop at 724-654-6689 for information regarding a practice round. The Golf Professional is Ned Weaver. Practice rounds should be made in advance and fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice rounds are available at a cost of $65 and are available before 11 AM on Friday and after 2 PM on Saturday and Sunday the week prior to the qualifying round. Practice range balls are complimentary the day of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies - Walking is required. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying rounds. Push trolleys are permitted for use in the competition.


Food - The WPGA provides a light continental breakfast for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player and New Castle CC only accepts cash as a payment. A buffet lunch will be available at the player's expense.

Lodging - Accommodations of various price ranges can be found in the New Castle area.
