This notice serves as confirmation for U.S. Amateur Sectional Qualifying on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Links at Spring Church in Apollo, PA.
The qualifier is 18 holes and the field is 25 players. The starting tee will be hole #1. The field will be playing for two (2) spot and two (2) alternates in the Championship and additional information will be distributed on the starting tee.
Format - 18 Holes of Stroke Play
Tee Markers - All play is from the BLUE tee markers
The "One Ball Rule" is in effect for the qualifying round. Grooves conforming to USGA competition standards are required.
Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be three hours and forty-five minutes (3:45)
Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee for the qualifying spot as well as alternates.
Practice - Please contact the Golf Shop at 724-478-5478 for information regarding a practice round. The Clubhouse Manager is Stacy Pasternak. Practice rounds should be made in advance. Practice range balls are complimentary the day of the competition.
Transportation/Caddies - Walking is required. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying rounds.
Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, players on holes 2(green),3,4,5,6,7(tee),11,12,13(tee),14(fairway/green),15(tee) & 17 should go to the shelter near hole #6 green. All other players should return immediately to the Clubhouse.
Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.
Food - The WPGA provides a light continental breakfast for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. A buffet lunch will be available at the player's expense.
