Notice to Players
U.S. Open Local Qualifying Round - May 7, 2014
Scotch Valley Country Club, Hollidaysburg, PA



This notice serves as confirmation for U.S. Open Local Qualifying Round on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Scotch Valley Country Club in Hollidaysburg, PA.

The qualifier is 18 holes and the field is 47 players. The starting tee will be hole #1. The field will be playing for three (3) spots and two (2) alternates.

Players will be made aware of the number of spots the field is playing for on the first tee. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee.

Format - 18 Holes of Stroke Play

Tee Markers - All play is from the GOLD tee markers

Distance Measuring Devices are not permitted for the qualifying round.

The “One Ball Rule” is in effect for the qualifying round.

Grooves conforming to USGA policy are required for the qualifying round.

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20)

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole sudden death playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee for qualifying spots as well as alternates.

Practice - Please contact the Golf Shop at 814-695-3022 for information regarding a practice round. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. The Golf Professional is D.R. Long. Practice rounds should be made in advance. Practice range balls are complimentary the day of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies - Walking is required. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying round.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, players on holes 1-12 & hole 18 should return immediately to the Clubhouse. Players on holes 13-17 should go to the maintenance building located near hole 15 tee.

Footwear [ METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

Food - The WPGA provides a light continental breakfast for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

Lodging - Lodging can be found in the Hollidaysburg/Altoona area in various price ranges.
