USGA Senior Amateur Sectional Qualifying Round - 8/22/14
Chartiers Golf Club, Pittsburgh, PA



This notice serves as confirmation for USGA Senior Amateur Sectional Qualifying on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Chartiers Country Club in Pittsburgh, PA.

The qualifying round is 18 holes and the field is 23 players. The starting tee will be hole #1. The field will be playing for one (1) spot in the championship and two alternates. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee.

Format - 18 Holes of Stroke Play
Tee Markers - All play is from the BLUE tee markers. The course will be set to play in the area of 6500 yards based on conditions.

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and ten minutes (4:10) in threesomes, and three hours and forty-five minutes (3:45) in twosomes.

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole sudden death playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee for the qualifying spot as well as alternates.

Rules reminders for USGA Qualifying Rounds
1. The "One-Ball Rule" is in effect.
2. Grooves conforming to USGA competition standards is required.
3. Stones in bunkers may not be removed. Penalty is two strokes for each breach of Rule.

Practice - Please contact the Golf Shop at 412-921-5360 for information regarding a practice round. The Golf Professional is Joe Klinchock. Any practice round fees are at the expense of the player and rounds should be scheduled in advance. Practice range balls are complimentary the day of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies - Contestants may use carts, walk and carry their own bags, or bring their own caddies. Players must pay Chartiers CC for their carts. CADDIES OR OTHER NON-PLAYERS MAY NOT RIDE IN CARTS. THIS IS A USGA CONDITION OF PLAY. NOTE USGA ENTRY FORM FOR DETAILS. CADDIES MUST WALK IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES.

Footwear - METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

Food - The WPGA provides a light continental breakfast for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

Lodging - Accommodations of various price ranges can be found in the Robinson Township area.
