Notice to Players - 2015 U.S. Junior Amateur Sectional Qualifying

June 24, 2015 - Champion Lakes Golf Course, Bolivar, PA

This notice serves as confirmation for U.S. Junior Amateur Sectional Qualifying on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Champion Lakes Golf Course in Bolivar, PA.

The qualifier is 36 holes and the field is 39 players. The starting tee will be hole #1. The field is playing for two (2) spots in the championship and two alternates. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee.

Format - 36 Holes of Stroke Play. All play will be from the BLUE WPGA Tee Markers. The competition yardage will be approximately 6,600 yards.

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:15)

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. distance Measuring Devices conforming to USGA standards are permitted. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee for any qualifying spots as well as alternates.

The "One-Ball" Rule, per stipulated round, is in effect. Grooves conforming to USGA policy are required for the qualifying round.

Practice - Practice rounds are available by contacting the golf shop at 724-238-5440. The golf professional is David Kuhar. Practice rounds should be made in advance and fees are the responsibility of the player. Champion Lakes is offering a practice fee of $20 to walk the golf course. Practice range balls are complimentary the day of the competition.

Caddies - Walking is required. Champion Lakes has no caddies. Players may bring their own caddies provided they meet the USGA's requirements - A parent, stepparent, or guardian may NOT serve as a caddie. CADDIES MUST WALK IN PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation (one prolonged horn note): Players on hole 2(green), 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7(tee) should go to the shelter near hole #6 tee. Players on hole 15(green) & 16(tee) should go to the porch of the house located near hole #16 tee. All other players should return immediately to the clubhouse.


Food - The WPGA provides a light continental breakfast for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. Lunch will be available by cash or credit card.

Lodging - Lodging of various types can be found in the Ligonier and Latrobe areas. Additionally, Champion Lakes may have lodging available on site, please contact the club to inquire as to rates and availability.
