U.S. Girls’ Junior Sectional Qualifying

June 30, 2016 at Quicksilver Golf Club in Midway, PA

This notice serves as confirmation for U.S. Girls’ Amateur Sectional Qualifying on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Quicksilver Golf Club in Midway, PA. The qualifying round is 18 holes and the field is 20 players. The field is playing for two (2) spots in the championship and two (2) alternates. The starting tees will be hole #1. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees. The practice facility will open at 6:45 AM the day of the qualifying round.

Format - 18 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee for qualifying spots as well as alternates.

Distance Measuring Devices are permitted for the qualifying round.

The “One Ball Rule” is in effect for the qualifying round.

Grooves conforming to USGA policy are required for the qualifying round.

Tee Markers - The course will play par 72 at roughly 6,100 yards depending on conditions.

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:15). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE, a checkpoint system will be in place for the qualifying round.

Practice - Practice round times can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 724-796-1594. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player, should be pre-arranged, and are at the discretion of the club. The Club Manager is Carl Pia. Practice rounds for junior competitors will be at a cost of $25.

Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies - Walking is required. Quicksilver does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies provided they meet the USGA’s requirements—A parent, stepparent, or guardian may NOT serve as a caddie. CADDIES MUST WALK IN PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES.

Food - The WPGA provides whole fruits and juices prior to the round and water on the course. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. An optional lunch, at the player’s expense will be available in the club restaurant. The club accepts cash and credit cards.


Lodging - Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Robinson Township, Bridgeville and Southpointe areas.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, players on holes #1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17 & 18 should return immediately to the Clubhouse. Players on holes 5,6,15&16 should proceed to the maintenance facility near hole #6 tee.

Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

Spectator Info - No spectator carts will be permitted for the qualifying round.
