This notice serves as confirmation for U.S. Open Local Qualifying on Monday, May 16, 2016 at The Club at Nevillewood in Nevillewood, PA. The qualifying round is 18 holes and the field is 84 players. The number of spots the field is playing for is five (5) and two (2) alternates. The starting tees will be holes #1 and #10. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees. The locker room will open at 7:00 AM and practice facility will open at 7:30 AM the day of the qualifying round.

Format: 18 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole sudden death playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee for qualifying spots as well as alternates.
Distance Measuring Devices are not permitted for the qualifying round.
The “One Ball Rule” is in effect for the qualifying round.
Grooves conforming to USGA policy are required for the qualifying round.
Tee Markers—All play is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers. The course will play par 72 at roughly 7,200 yards depending on conditions.
Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE, a checkpoint system will be in place for the qualifying round.
Practice: Please take note of the enclosed information regarding practice rounds.
Practice rounds must be pre-arranged, no sooner than a week ahead of the desired time and can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 412-276-4653. Practice Round Availability: Local players, within 60 miles of the club, are encouraged to schedule a practice round on weekdays after 2:00 PM or May 7, 8 or 9 after 3:00 PM as times are available. Local players are encouraged to schedule a practice round on a weekday as weekend times will be significantly limited.
Out of Town Players, residing outside of 60 miles of the club, will be able to schedule a practice round on Sunday, May 15 between 3:00 & 3:20 PM based on availability. Contestants are not permitted guests for practice rounds that are scheduled on weekends. Contestants may have one guest accompany them for a practice round scheduled on a weekday based on availability. Players are entitled to one practice round at a rate of $75 with a cart, additional practice rounds are at the discretion of the club, at the prevailing guest rate. The Director of Golf is Jim Antkiewicz. Nevillewood is a high volume member club and all practice rounds are based on the availability of tee times. The golf shop reserves the right to group practice round players as it sees fit. All practice rounds and groupings are at the discretion of the golf shop. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.
Transportation/Caddies: Walking is required. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying round. Players are permitted to use push trolleys for the qualifying round.
Food: The WPGA provides coffee and juices prior to the round and water on the course. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player. An optional lunch, at the player’s expense will be available following the round. The club accepts American Express, Discover, cash and reciprocal charge. No Mastercard or Visa is accepted for food & beverage charges.
Footwear: METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.
Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Bridgeville, Greentree, Robinson Township and Southpointe areas.
Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, players on holes #1 & 2 should go to the maintenance building, players on holes 3 & 4 should go to the tunnel between holes 3 & 4, players on holes 5 & 6 should go to the bath house between holes 5 & 6, players on holes 7 & 8 should go to the tunnel near #12 tee box, players on holes 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17 & 18 should return the clubhouse, players on holes 13 & 14 should go to the bath house near 14 tee, players on hole 15 should go to the tunnel between 14 & 15. Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.
