Notice to Players - 2017 U.S. Open Local Qualifying


May 3, 2017 - Wildwood Golf Club, Allison Park, PA



This notice serves as confirmation for U.S. Open Local Qualifying on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Wildwood Golf Club in Allison Park, PA. The qualifying round is 18 holes and the field is 40 players. The number of spots the field is playing for will be communicated on the starting tee. Please note the starting times and groupings below. The starting tee will be hole #1. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees. The locker room and practice facility will open at roughly 6:30 AM the day of the qualifying round. The club requests that all players use the locker room to change shoes. Players will be competing for two (2) spots and two (2) alternates.

2017 USGA Hard Card

Format: 18 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee for qualifying spots as well as alternates.

Distance Measuring Devices are not permitted for the qualifying round.
The “One Ball Rule” is in effect for the qualifying round.
Grooves conforming to USGA policy are required for the qualifying round.

Tee Markers: All play is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers. The course will play par 71 at roughly 6,625 yards depending on conditions.

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty-five minutes (4:25). A pace of play checkpoint system will be in place for the qualifying round.

Practice: Practice rounds must be pre-arranged and can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 412-486-4300. The Golf Professional is Bernie Hough. Practice round times are at the discretion of the golf shop and are at a cost of $50 for competitors. Those accompanying competitors for practice rounds are subject to prevailing club fees for a round. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player. Practice range balls are complimentary the morning of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies: Walking is required. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying round. Push trolleys will NOT be permitted for the qualifying round.

Food: The WPGA provides a light continental breakfast prior to the round and water on the course. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.
