Notice to Players
U.S. Amateur Sectional Qualifying, Down River

This notice serves as confirmation for U.S. Amateur Sectional Qualifying on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Down River Golf Club in Everett, PA.

The qualifier is 36 holes and the field is 31 players. Please note the attached starting times and pairings. The starting tee will be hole #1. The field will be playing for one (1) spot in the Championship and additional information will be distributed on the starting tee.

Format - 36 Holes of Stroke Play

Tee Markers - All play is from the BLUE tee markers

Distance Measuring Devices are not permitted for the qualifying round.

The “One Ball Rule” is in effect for the qualifying round.

Pace of Play - The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20)

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee for qualifying spots as well as alternates.

Practice - Please contact the Golf Shop at 814-652-5193 for information regarding a practice round. The Golf Professional is Chris Yoder. Practice rounds should be made in advance.

Practice range balls are complimentary the day of the competition.

Transportation/Caddies - Walking is required. The club does not offer caddies. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties during the qualifying rounds.

Evacuation Plan - In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, players on holes #1,2,3,9,10,11 & 18 should return immediately to the Clubhouse. Players on holes #4,5,6,7 & 8 should go to the shelter near hole #5 tee. Players on holes #13,14,15 & 16 should go to the shelter near hole #16 tee. Players on holes #12 & 17 should go to the shelter between those holes.


Food - The WPGA provides a light continental breakfast for the players. All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

Lodging - Accommodations of various price ranges can be found in the Bedford area.
