Grove City Country Club was founded in 1917 by a large group of local residents. The 27-acre Barmore Lake serves as the club's centerpiece. The Club's original nine holes were designed by renowned golf course architect T.M. Bendelow, and were routed around the lake. A new nine holes, designed by architect John Ponko, were added in 1995 and weave their way through native marshes and woodlands.
