Meeks headlines USGA Conference January 22, 2004 Jeff Rivard, Executive Director (contact) Thomas J. Meeks, the USGA Senior Director of Rules and Competitions, headlines the USGA Regional Conference at the Radisson Hotel, Monroeville, on February 23, 2004. Meeks will speak at 12:15 pm on USGA Championships: Site Selection and Set-Up. Meeks, who has worked for the USGA since 1975, is responsible for course set-ups and officiating management at Opens, Senior Opens, and Amateurs. He was involved with the 1983 and 1994 Opens and last year's Amateur, all at Oakmont. A Rules of Golf expert, Meeks led the way in establishing the USGA's Rules of Golf Workshops throughout the country in cooperation with the PGA of America.
