Injury sidelines Nathan Smith
May 15, 2004
Jeff Rivard, Executive Director (contact)

2003 WPGA Player of the Year, Nathan Smith, Brookville, whose season was highlighted by the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship title, has a torn labrum in his left shoulder. He is expected to miss most of the season.

The injury took place on April 24 in the Coleman Invitational at Seminole GC, Juno Beach, Florida, and he underwent surgery on May 3.

Smith had played well this year prior to the incident, with two top four finishes in amateur competitions, and nearly making the cut in The Masters while being paired with Arnold Palmer.
