Individual golfer dues paid by Member Clubs, the financial
lifeblood of the Association, will rise in 2005 to $18 from $15. This is the
first increase since the Association moved to $15 in 2000.
The increase is designed to keep the
Association's cash operations on a break even basis. $18 is consistent with the
national average of dues for regional amateur associations that were $18.50 as
of 2003. Since the previous dues increase in 2000, the WPGA has provided over
$100,000 of computers to Member Clubs for GHIN (Golf Handicap & Information
Network), a USGA service, computations, added Public Links, Women's,
Parent-Child, and Fred Brand Century championships, and employed a Director,
Membership Development & Services.
