Wheatcroft, Nathan Smith, advance
through PGA Tour Qualifying

Finishing their rounds on October 20, well
before the arrival of Hurricane Wilma in Florida, Washington's Steve
Wheatcroft, and Brookville's Nathan Smith, advanced to the second
stage of PGA Tour Qualifying. In Palm City at Martin Downs CC's
Osprey Course, Wheatcroft shot 69-70-66-70--275, finishing fourth,
and Smith carded 68-68-71-74--281, qualifying right on the number.

Wheatcroft, who won the 2004 West Penn Open, enjoyed a successful
year on Florida mini-tours with four wins and well over $100,000 in
earnings, while Smith, the 2003 USGA Mid-Amateur champion, was
WPGA's 2005 Player of the Year. Among his achievements, Smith won
the 2005 Frank Fuhrer Invitational by six strokes defeating the
area's top professionals. Franklin's Justin Smith played in the
first stage at Jennings Mill CC, Bogart, Georgia, October 11-14. His
70-69-71-70--280 was one short of the cut.
