Centennial History Maker Sam Musico passes away

Sam Musico, Chartiers, who won 18 club titles between 1953 and 1972 has died at age 91.  An accomplished player for decades Musico won the 1953 West Penn Amateur and the 1959 Fred Brand Foursomes partnered with Sam Urso.  As a publinxer prior to joining Chartiers, won the 1940 Pennsylvania Amateur Public Links Championship.  He qualifed for several USGA Amateur Public Links Championships, reaching the quarter-finals in 1950.  He also played in the US Open in 1953 at Oakmont, missing the cut by one stroke.  Musico was honored during the WPGA Centennial, 1998-99, as a history maker.
