Four seminars on separate topics
offer educational opportunities to the typical golfer and
facility leader alike. Registration can be done by contacting
the WPGA of visiting the
Education Center.
Leading off is the USGA Regional Conference on February 27 at
the Radisson-Monroeville. There is no fee but registration is
required. Registration is possible through the Association or by
contacting USGA Regional Director, Ann Guiberson. Golf course
maintenance, major championship preparation, and equipment
issues are among the topics for the meeting that begins at noon.
A GHIN Operating Seminar will
take place at Green Oaks on March 21. Contact the WPGA for more
information. Those who administer GHIN at their clubs are
encouraged to attend. Both USGA and WPGA staff members will
conduct this meeting.
A Handicap Chair Certification
session will be held at Chartiers on March 30. This is an
important meeting for clubs needing certification or officials
interested in this issue.
A Rules of Golf Workshop will
occur on April 1 at Edgewood. This morning meeting will conclude
with lunch, well in advance of the first game of the NCAA Final
Four semi-finals.
Providing information to the golf
community that assists officials in conducting their activities
is a key element of the Association's mission.
