71 at Quicksilver, 39 at Scotch Valley, in US Open Locals

On Thursday, May 18, 29 pros and 42 amateurs will compete for five
qualifying spots in the USGA Open Local Qualifying Round at Quicksilver GC,
Midway, west of Pittsburgh.  On Monday, May 21, in the second Local
conducted the the Association, eighteen pros and 21 amateurs try for three
places at Scotch Valley CC, near Altoona.  The eight qualifiers advance to
the 36-hole Sectional of their choice June, 5 or 6.

Most entrants have selected either Woodmont CC (MD), Sectional, near
Washington, DC, or Brookside/Lakeside Sectional, Columbus, Ohio.  Both are
