94 golfers have entered the 2006 West Penn Amateur to be played at Fox Chapel Golf Club, in Pittsburgh, June 26-27.  Contestants play 36 holes the first day with the low 32 and ties returning for the final round.  The field of 194 is second only to the 260 who entered in 1999 when the Championship was at Oakmont. 

Qualifying Rounds are scheduled as follows

Wednesday, June 7—Lake Shore CC, Erie, 21 player for 6 spots

Monday, June 12—Sinking Valley GC, north of Altoona, 31 players for 9 spots

Tuesday, June 13—Alcoma GC, Pittsburgh, 59 players for 16 spots

Wednesday, June 14—Beaver Lakes CC, Aliquippa, 56 players for 16 spots

Qualifiers will join 27 exempt players at Fox Chapel headed by defending champion Scott Phillis, Meadville, 2004 champion, David Brown, Upper St. Clair, and seven time champion, Sean Knapp, Oakmont.
