Finishes Third in Williamson Cup Matches

The Frank B. Fuhrer Team representing WPGA finished
in third place at the Williamson Cup Matches held at Bellevue Country
Club in Syracuse, New York. The Syracuse District Golf Association
hosted the 43rd installment of the matches that includes ten golf
associations from Western Pennsylvania to Quebec. The event is
thirty-six holes of stroke play with the low three scores of the four
junior team counting each round.

Adam Hofmann, Pittsburgh, led the team and finished
T-4 with scores of 74-74--148, followed by Chuck Nettles, McMurray, who
finished T-15 with scores of 78-77--155. Robert Shogry and Brendan Borst
of Pittsburgh both finished T-18 in the individual competition with
scores of 80-76--156 and 74-82--156 respectively.
The WPGA team scores of 226-227--453 left the team 10
strokes behind the Golf Association of Ontario (222-221--443), and eight
behind the Pennsylvania Golf Association (225-220--445). The Golf
Association of Philadelphia shot scores of 232-222--454 to finish
fourth, followed by Washington Metro Golf Association (225-235--460),
Metropolitan Golf Association (235-225--460), Rochester District Golf
Association (237-224--461), Syracuse District Golf Association
(233-236--469), Quebec Golf Association (233-243--476), and Delaware
State Golf Association (242-237--479).
Cameron Peterson, Grove City, and Delmont's Matt
Rebitch helped Pennsylvania Golf Association finish second with scores
of 75-72--147 (T-2) and 77-74--151 (T-11) respectively.
