WPGA - McPherson Recipient of Bill Mac Award, 2007

Richard C. McPherson, Edgewood, who has served the Association in numerous roles for over a decade, was honored with the 2007 WPGA’s Bill Mac Award for outstanding volunteer service.

The honor is named for Bill Mackowick, Willowbrook, 1928-96, who volunteered at numerous WPGA championships for several years as a starter and score board official. McPherson, a member of the Executive Committee, 1994-2000, has also officiated at competitions and served on the Association’s Green and Membership Development & Services Committees. A Green Committee Chair at his club for many years, McPherson is highly regarded by many golf course superintendents throughout the area. He is retired from Pittsburgh Corning with a career in human resources.
