John Benson wins State Senior
Match Play May 22, 2007 Jeff Rivard, Executive Director (contact) Punxsutawney's John Benson won the Pennsylvania Golf Association's inaugural R. Jay Sigel Senior Match Play Championship. He defeated Frank Polizzi, Bryn Mawr, 3 & 2 in the finals at Gulph Mills CC in Philadelphia. Sixteen seniors were invited, so Benson had to defeat four opponents to win his first state title.
