Benson/Erickson finish 2nd in
Southern International Four-Ball January 17, 2008 Jeff Rivard, Executive Director (contact) John Benson, Punxsutawney, and Don Erickson, III, DuBois, have partnered for three decades to win numerous four-ball competitions both locally and nationally. Benson has been playing senior amateur golf for two seasons, and Erickson turned 55 last year, then promptly won the WPGA Senior Amateur Championship at Willowbrook Country Club. The duo fired 66-64-69--199 in the 74th Southern International Four-Ball at The Fox Club in Palm City, Florida, on January 11-13, finishing second to Mike Kelly and Bob Morris, who recorded 63-71-64--198, edging the local team by one stroke. |
