The First Tee of Pittsburgh is
conducting a search for a Director of Golf and Instruction at
our facility at the Bob O’Connor Golf Course in Schenley Park,
Pittsburgh, PA.
The Mission Statement for The First Tee of Pittsburgh is to
positively affect the lives of children through golf and the
values associated with playing the game. We will accomplish our
mission by using golf as a platform for teaching children nine
core values: honesty; respect; sportsmanship; perseverance;
responsibility; judgment; integrity; confidence and courtesy. We
will reach out to children of all socio-economic and racial
backgrounds, with a special focus on special needs children and
all those that may not ordinarily have access to golf and its
associated life-enhancing values. Our purpose is not to help
make kids great golfers, but to help them become great students,
siblings, sons and daughters and citizens.
The Director of Golf and Instruction will handle volunteer/coach
management, (including recruitment, training, support, and
scheduling), general oversight and supervision of TFTP clinics,
continuous implementation of new programs and lesson plans,
expansion of program and establishment of new
partnerships/relationships. In supervision of the Bob O’Connor
Golf Course he will work with Pro Shop/front desk staff in the
areas of supervision, training, scheduling, and support; develop
the Pro Shop inventory of merchandise and tracking and
accounting; and supervise the golf course policies and
procedures, liaison with superintendant and grounds crew, and
scheduling of TFTP clinics.
