Handicap Chair Certification Seminars scheduled March 24, 2008 Terry Teasdale, Handicap Director (contact) The WPGA Handicap Committee is pleased to continue conducting the Handicap Chair Certification Program. The purpose of this program is to educate members and employees of Association Member Clubs on the USGA Handicap System and handicapping policies and procedures in the Western Pennsylvania district to be better prepared to handle duties at the club. This year marks a revision of the USGA Handicap System, 2008-2011 and every club wishing to issue a Handicap Index to each member must attend a seminar. We encourage each club to complete this requirement this year, and we will be conducting a series of seminars this spring and fall. At each seminar, registration will begin at 8:30 AM and the program will follow at 9:00 AM. You are invited to attend any of the seminars. The dates follow:
Tuesday, April 22, 2008 @ Chestnut Ridge Resort, Blairsville, PA It is a requirement of the USGA Handicap System that a representative from each Member Club attend a seminar conducted by the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association or the United States Golf Association, or complete the program online during each certification period in order to issue any Handicap Index. The current period ends December 31, 2011. The club is receiving this special notice to alert you that your club has not yet been certified. As an additional option, a representative of the club may complete the program online on the USGA website: http://www.usga.org/playing/handicaps/handicaps.html Please fill out the included registration form and send it to the Association. Email, phone and fax registrations are acceptable. Any questions about this seminar may be directed to Terry Teasdale (phone: 412-826-2180; email: tteasdale@wpga.org). There is no fee for this program for representatives from WPGA Member Clubs.
