The First Tee of Pittsburgh, a nonprofit youth development
agency, is delighted to invite all area golfers to join the
fun, excitement, and potential million dollar windfall of
our annual hole-in-one weekend on September 19 – 21 at the
Bob O’Connor Golf Course in Schenley Park.
Each year The First Tee of Pittsburgh’s annual fundraiser is
a hole-in-one event that culminates in a shootout for
$1,000,000. The format is very simple: a series of
qualifiers take place each hour throughout the weekend
during which one male and one female golfer are selected.
The two golfers whose shots are closest to the pin during
that hour move on to be part of a Sunday Shootout to win the
chance to qualify for the $1,000.000.00 grand prize. From
those qualifiers six finalists are selected, (three male and
three female that are closest to the pin), to take a shot at
a hole-in-one for $1,000,000.
This year The First Tee of Pittsburgh is inviting some
special guests on hand. On Friday, September 19 from 1 - 5
PM CINDY MORGAN, (Lacey Underall from the
golf classic movie Caddyshack)
will be on hand to greet golfers, pose for pictures, sign
autographs and share stories from the movie.
The First Tee of Pittsburgh is a nine year old youth
development agency that is one of 208 chapters throughout
the world. The First Tee of Pittsburgh’s mission is to
impact the lives of young people by providing learning
facilities and educational programs that use golf
instruction as a platform to teach kids nine key core values
– Courtesy, Responsibility, Judgment, Respect, Confidence,
Honesty, Integrity, Perseverance, and Sportsmanship. We
work with many area groups, youth and social service
agencies, schools, and families in the community.
Times for the Hole-in-One are:
Friday, 9/19: 1 PM – 5 PM
Saturday, 9/20: 8 AM – 3 PM
Sunday, 9/21: 8 AM – 2 PM
Sunday Shootout, 9/21: 3 – 4 PM
Hole-in-One Million Dollar Shot, 9/21: 4:30 PM
I look forward to your support and hope area golfers will
consider joining our event.
