After the
first round in the Jamison Cup at Edgewood on September 23,
Sewickley Heights total of 296, in the five players count four
format, gave them a two stroke lead over Edgewood (298) and
Nevillewood (301).
In the second
round, after Casey Courneen shot 70 and Chris Cavanaugh fired
68, the rout was on. When Brad Usher recorded 69 for medalist
honors (72-69—141), and Chris Osborne carded 71, Sewickley
Heights with 296-278—574, recorded a 30 stroke win over
Edgewood, and new Jamison scoring records for 18 holes with 278,
and 36 holes with 574. The fifth player, Maurice Ferentino,
recorded 74 in the morning to contribute to the team’s victory,
covering Osborne’s 79.
Sewickley
Heights lost in the Palmer League to Nevillewood, dominated the
Jamison Cup.
