The WPGA Championship Committee has opened the Tournament of Champions to more players, and it will be renamed the Spring Invitational.  The one-day 36-hole competition will be available for a maximum field of sixty players.

Players who have won any WPGA competition during 2008, members of the 2008 Amateur, Junior, and Senior Honor Rolls, and 2008 Member Club champions, will automatically be accepted into the competition upon entry.  Other contestants may apply, and the committee reserves the right to select from that entry pool as it sees fit.

"With a small field over the past few years, the Association can provide more players with an opportunity to start their season in the spring by opening up this competition," commented Jim Boughner, Championship Committee Chairman.
