Wheatcroft advanced to the finals by winning medalist honors in both the first and second stages.  He played the PGA Tour in 2007. after qualifying seventh.  Locally, he won the 2004 West Penn Open at Westmoreland.  In college Wheatcroft played at Indiana University, making All Big-Ten his senior year.

Mills played the PGA Tour in 2008, winning nearly $490,000 for 154th on the money list.  At PGA West he shot 68-72-71-67-69-74--421, tying for 70th. Problems on the final holes put Mills over par, as he was even through 15, but he needed 67 on his final round to return to the PGA Tour.  Mills, originally from Ontario, Canada, played his collegiate golf at Kent State. He advanced to the finals by qualifying in the second stage, being exempt from first stage due to his PGA Tour status.  Mills played the PGA Tour in 2008 after a top ten finish in 2007 on the Nationwide Tour's money list.
